![]() ![]() It is the Fascist Italian axe, the fasces. It is crossed with a sword. Not at all like a scratch. The mark is on the flat portion of the bolt handle, which is facing up in the picture. And then there is the stamping on the top of the chamber. It's a crescent shape it could just have been scraped by the machining, I don't know. Is this significant? There is one other mark, on the bolt. There is no manufacturer or date stamped ANYWHERE on the rifle. There are serial numbers on:The boltThe magazineYou can't really see the numbers, but 629 is stamped twice on the magazineAnd on the side of the chamber (2 pics here)Notice that the caliber has been stamped on there as if it was covering up something else. ![]() The rifle:There are very few distinguishing marks on the rifle. I wouldn't think there was anything special about it, except for what is stamped on the outside of the chamber. Anyways, that is not a service stock it also has an adjustable rear sight that has been added on. You will see that the rifle is sporterized, more or less. You will see it at the end of the other pics. ![]() In fact, I will gladly give rep (even multiple rep if that's allowed ) to whoever can give me details of this rifle's history. If any of you can help me with this, it would be much appreciated. Can anybody help? I didn't really want to have to start an account at a collector's site. It has been stamped with something that makes me wonder if it didn't see WWII service, but I don't know. Hi all! I was hoping that somebody could help me identify a rifle of mine. ![]()
